New renders of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra have emerged online. Some of its design changes include two recessed camera modules, thinner bezels and non-curved chassis.
OnLeaks has been releasing a steady drip of Galaxy S23-related leaks over the past 24 hours. Renders of the vanilla Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ have revealed a very Galaxy S22-esque aesthetic for the flagships. Now, the magnum opus Galaxy S23 Ultra has finally broken cover, thanks to the leaker (via Smartprix).
Unsurprisingly, the Galaxy S23 Ultra will follow its younger siblings’ design philosophy. At first glance, it is little more than a Galaxy S22 Ultra with a fresh coat of paint; a sentiment echoed multiple times in the past. One has to nitpick to find the differences between the two phones. Earlier reports said that the Galaxy S23 Ultra would be a bit less curvy than the Galaxy S22. The leaked renders confirm the said assertion.
The other tangible change bought forth by the Galaxy S23 Ultra is recessed camera modules, two of them, at least. However, the remaining three could still prevent the phone from sitting upright on a flat surface. Ice Universe put the renders under a (metaphorical) microscope and discovered that the phone would have the smallest chin ever on a Samsung device and that all four bezels have equal width.
Everything else about the Galaxy S23 Ultra’s design is run-of-the-mill, including a USB-C port, speaker grille and S-Pen silo at the bottom. Little is known about its innards so far, except for its 200 MP primary camera sensor, a new Qualcomm ultrasonic fingerprint sensor and Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. A bump in battery capacity would be ideal, but that is unlikely to happen. Samsung may have to exercise extra caution with its batteries after recent events.
