According to a renowned leaker, Samsung has settled on a revised design for the Galaxy S23 Ultra, its next premier smartphone. Instead of Samsung moving towards symmetrical display bezels for its Ultra smartphone, the Galaxy S23 Ultra will look like the spitting image of the current Galaxy S22 Ultra.
Earlier this month, @UniverseIce declared that renders of the Galaxy S23 Ultra shared by @OnLeaks were not correct. Instead, the former alleged that Samsung had settled on making fewer changes from the Galaxy S22 Ultra than @OnLeaks implied would be the case. Subsequently, @UniverseIce asserted that people should wait for Samsung to release the Galaxy S23 Ultra rather than picking up the Galaxy S22 Ultra, despite their similarities.
Now, @OnLeaks has updated his renders, as the images below show. Purportedly, the leaker has received new information, which sees both @OnLeaks and @UniverseIce converging on the idea that the Galaxy S23 Ultra will not have symmetrical bezels. Still, the former has not changed his view that Samsung’s next flagship smartphone will launch with a squarer profile than its predecessor.
Conversely, the new renders highlight that the Galaxy S23 Ultra has a thinner frame than the Galaxy S22 Ultra. Theoretically, the subtle changes could improve ergonomics, although the Galaxy S23 Ultra will remain a hefty smartphone. Currently, Samsung is expected to announce the Galaxy S23 Ultra in early 2023, likely after the Xiaomi 13 series debuts. Reputedly the Galaxy S23 series will arrive running the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, but it remains to be seen if Samsung has another Exynos chipset up its sleeve for Europe and a few other markets.
